Yvonne Louise (Clisby) Artman

Yvonne Louise Clisby Artman, age 87 of Laurinburg passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020.

Yvonne, a daughter of the late Richard Clisby and Mable Adams Clisby, was born June 14, 1932 in Greenville, Pennsylvania. In her younger years, she worked as an associate in the retail business for Stouss/Kaufmans. Greenville, PA was where as a child she swam in the Shenango River with her sisters and raised her family. Yvonne was a member of Greencrest Church in Reynolds where she sang in the choir and played the organ for services and weddings. She also enjoyed attending Faith Presbyterian Church in Laurinburg. Her heart was always in the kitchen and enjoyed boating on Shenango Lake with friends and family. Her later years were spent in North Carolina where she enjoyed the love of her family and friends in the beautiful foothills of the North Carolina Mountains.. Yvonne was a wonderful mother who devoted her life to her family and will truly be missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Kerr Sedlak and sister, Elaine Carlson.

Yvonne is survived by daughter, Kenda Clingerman (Norman) of SC; sisters, Vesta Pyatt of Morganton, Eleanor Homer of Lubbock, TX; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, along with her nieces, nephews and many friends.

A celebration of life ceremony was held on Sunday, August 23, 2020 in memory of Yvonne "Vonnie" Kerr Artman, in her beloved state of Pennsylvania.
