Wilma Floyd Jackson, 88, of Laurinburg, North Carolina passed away peacefully on April 29, 2022 while surrounded by her family and loved ones. Wilma was the daughter of Roy J. Floyd and Ida Mae Floyd, born January 8, 1932 in Randolph County. Wilma later moved to Laurinburg and married John Wade Jackson, Sr. and they had four children. Wilma began her career at Brookes Supermarket, then moved her talents to Harris Teeter, where she retired as the floral manager. She enjoyed going to church, playing piano, gardening, floral decorating, and raising all of her grands, great and great-great grands, and occasionally other people’s children. Wilma will be dearly missed and always cherished and remembered.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, Roy J. Floyd and Ida Mae Floyd; husband, John Wade Jackson, Sr.; her daughter, Linda Jackson; brother, David Floyd; sisters, Ann F. Anderson and Carolyn F. Megg.
She is survived by her sons, John Wade Jackson, Jr. (Gail), Donnie Jackson, Sr. (Sheila), Ricky Jackson; brothers, Dixie Floyd, Donald Floyd (Carolyn), RJ Floyd (Connie), and Tommy Floyd; sisters, Ida Mae Ellis and Betty Sue Lisenby. Wilma was also blessed with six grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Lighthouse Nation Church, officiated by Rev. Lee Jackson. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
