William Vernon Paul, known by many as “Petie” Paul of Bennettsville, SC passed away at the age of 73 on February 6, 2025.
Petie was born May 15, 1951 in Richmond County, NC, one of ten children of the late William Howard Paul and the late Glennie Robson Paul. He worked for Andy Anderson Mobile Home Sales for many years until starting his own business, P&C Mobile Home Service until retirement. He was truly appreciated for his expertise in helping many people with their well and water problems. He also served as a member of the Antioch Community Faith Church.
Petie loved to entertain others with his many jokes and funny pranks always spreading laughter to those around. He loved helping others at any time with anything they may need. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener who loved spending time outdoors. Petie was loved by his family and many friends who will greatly miss him.
Along with his parents, preceding him in death are brothers, James Howard “Sonnyboy” Paul, Roger Earl “Chubby” Paul, David “Johnny” Paul; and sisters, Kathleen Paul Wright, Olivia Kay Paul, and Doris Paul.
Petie is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Nancy Carolyn Peele Paul of their home; son, Travis C. Paul and wife, Alice of Whiteville; daughter, Kim K. Hall and husband, Larry of Cameron; brother, Cecil Paul and wife, Christine of Hamlet; sisters, Carolyn Leviner and husband Leonard of Rockingham, Betty McLean of Roseboro; eight grandchildren, Kailey Paul, Karly Paul, Heather Hall, Holden Hall, Jaiden N. English, Jace N. English, Jacori N. English, and Jazlynn N. English; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Pinecrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
