William Franklin "Frank" Moore

William Franklin “Frank” Moore of Laurinburg, NC departed this life for his Heavenly home at the age of 92 on February 24, 2026.

He was born April 30, 1933 in Chesterfield County, South Carolina, son of the late Eugene Thurston Moore and the late Geneva Tucker Moore. Frank was a proud Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He worked as rural route mail carrier with the United States Postal Service for many valued years until retiring. Frank was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Laurinburg where he faithfully served as a Deacon and loved singing in the choir. He loved his church and took great joy participating in Vacation Bible School and playing on the church softball league.

Frank also treasured his time volunteering in the community with Meals on Wheels, Helping Hands, and being part of the “Ramp Builders”. He enjoyed camping trips, a good game of bowling, along with square dancing. Above all, his greatest joy came from time spent with family and the memories they shared. Frank was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted friend who will be dearly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years, Sybil Woodside Moore; son, William Brian Moore; and brothers, Robert “Bobby” Moore and Wilson “Punk” Moore.

Left to cherish his memory are daughters, Lori Moore Copeland and husband, James of Indian Trail, NC, and Teresa “Terri” Moore Lyda and husband, Ken of King, NC; grandchildren, Kayla Copeland, Will Copeland, Andrew Lyda, Eric Lyda; and great-grandchildren, Perry Lyda, Lorellai Lyda, Benjamin Lyda; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Laurinburg followed by burial in Hillside Memorial Park.  A time of visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday beginning 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the First Baptist Church.
