William Dorsey "Mickey" Patterson

In the late evening of May 15, 2026, the beloved William Dorsey “Mickey” Patterson passed to his Heavenly home at the age of 78 surrounded by his loving family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will deeply be missed by each of his loved ones.

William known as “Mickey” was born August 1, 1947 in Bennettsville, SC, son of the late William Henry “Pat” Patterson and the late Hellen English Patterson.  He married his sweetheart, Sylvia “Susie” on May 24, 1969 sharing almost 57 years together with their precious family.  He was a hardworking man with a career of over 40 years as an oil truck driver with Preston Moore Oil Company along with Convenient Store Management until his retirement.   

He faithfully served Christ and was a member of the Springfield Church of God.  Mickey enjoyed watching sports, sharing conversations with others, and above all, spending time with his family whom he cherished.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by sister, Joan Carol Parker.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Sylvia “Susie” Jane Patterson of their home in Laurinburg; his adored daughters, Susan Denise Webb (Tommy), and Pamela Jean Watford (Jason) each of Laurinburg; and a proud grandfather of three grandsons, Jacob Odom, Christopher Watford and Brandon Watford. He is also survived by brother, James Carl “Bobo” Patterson of Florida; and his loving extended family and friends.

Services will be held at graveside on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Hillside Memorial Park.   Family will receive friends following the service at graveside.
