William "Bill" Ray Taylor

William Ray “Bill” Taylor also known as “Wild Bill” of Gibson, NC passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 to his eternal home at the age of 70. Born in Marlboro County, South Carolina the son of the late Roland and Beulah Mae Taylor.

Bill was a blue-collar man who loved God and his family. He retired from Eaton Corporation after 27 years of service. He served on Gibson Fire Department until he resigned due to health issues and was also known as “The Mechanic”.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years and high school sweetheart, Annie Chavis Taylor of the home; two daughters, Rebecca Broughton of Gibson, Rachel Locklear (Nicky) of Lumberton; four grandchildren, Amanda Leviner (Brooke), Kaitlyn Hunt, Taylor Hunt, Tyler Leviner; three great-grandchildren, Damian Hunt, Ezra Leviner, Jayden Beatty; his precious fur baby, Skrunk; and special friends, James Chavis, Harold “Speedy” Quick, and William Grooms.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roland and Beulah Grooms Taylor; brothers, Charles Edward Taylor, Larry Mack Taylor, Roland “Ronnie” Taylor; and two brothers-in-law, Charles Chavis and Terry Deberry.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm. on Friday, February 13th at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel followed by burial in Pinecrest Cemetery.
