William McKinley Tucker, Jr., son of the late William McKinley Tucker and Helen Ward Tucker was born in Robeson County, North Carolina on September 30, 1934. He was the devoted husband of 60 years to the late Rebecca Jean Stanton Tucker who preceded him in death in 2018. William retired after thirty-two years as a supervisor with McNair Farms and then Carroll’s Foods. William formerly served as a deacon at Centre Presbyterian Church in Maxton, and later served as a member of the North Laurinburg Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and horse buggy riding. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. William passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the age of 86.
Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by brothers, Bobby Tucker, Howard Tucker and Harry Tucker.
William is survived by his sons, Mark Tucker and wife, Linda of Laurinburg, Rodney Tucker and wife Susan of Laurinburg; sister, Marie Parrish of Kernersville; grandchildren, Jason Tucker, Patrick Cummings, Candice Locklear, Mikayla Tucker, Dylan Tucker, Alyssa Tucker; great grandchildren, Addison Tucker, Eli Tucker, and a host of loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Pastor AB Brown Pastor and Pastor Howard Hardin. Burial will follow in Midway Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
