William Harold Seate

William “Harold” Seate, age 70 of Maxton passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021.

 Harold Seate was born July 20, 1950 in Scotland County, son of the late Rufus Seate and Sally Denson Seate.  He attended Calvary Baptist Church, worked many years as a truck driver. Harold was an avid fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecocks and enjoyed fishing and hunting. One of his favorite past times was hanging out at Nic’s Pic Kwik and talking politics. Spending time with family brought him the greatest joy, especially the time spent with grandchildren. Harold will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Helen Seate; twin grandsons, Tyler and Logan Seate; sisters, Jeanette Carpenter and Louise Teeter.

Harold is survived by his wife, Rebecca “Becky” Seate of the home; sons, William Randall Seate (Lori) of Maxton, Jason Lee Seate of Laurinburg, James Hill (Delta) of Maxton; daughters, Mildred Reynolds (Eric) of Laurinburg, Rebecca Delgado of Aberdeen, Jennifer Williamson (Tyler) of Carthage; grandchildren, Brooke Seate, Mary Elizabeth Seate, Joseph Byrd, Aaron Seate, Luke Seate, Jamie Lynn Delgado, along with many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial donations may be given to Calvary Baptist Church, 117 S. McNair Street, Maxton, NC 28364 or to the Ronald McDonald House.  

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 8, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church in Maxton. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. COVID restrictions require facial masks with social distancing for all services.
