Wilbert Locklear was born March 1, 1929 in Hoke County, North Carolina to the late A.D. Driggers and Patty Locklear Driggers. He was a proud Veteran who served with the United States Army. Wilbert life work was in farming and proudly cared for the grounds of St. Andrews University.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Clamy Freeman Locklear; a son, Wilbert “Snookie” Locklear; granddaughters, Crystal Hunt and Tammy Kay Freeman.
Wilbert leaves behind his sons, Gilbert Freeman (Doris), and Billy Locklear; daughter-in-law, Donna Hunt all of Maxton; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Services will be held for family at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Leitch Creek Baptist Church. Viewing will be prior to services from 2:00 until 3:00 at the church. Military honors will follow the service at graveside.
