Wanda Driggers Johnson

Wanda Driggers Johnson, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and devoted friend passed to her Heavenly home at the age of 78 on March 10, 2023.

Wanda was born December 23, 1944, one of eight children of the late Edward Boyd Driggers and the late Ethel Sessoms Driggers of Scotland County, NC.  Along with being a wonderful homemaker, she worked many years in the textile industry with J.P. Stevens, Inc.  Wanda faithfully served the Lord and was as a longtime faithful member of the Wagram Church of God.  She served in the Women’s Ministry and truly loved cooking for her church family and others.  She enjoyed traveling, shopping and knitting in her quiet time.  Above all, Wanda loved sharing time with her family and friends, always making each one feel special and loved.  Her special smile, contagious laughter and loving heart will dearly be missed.

Along with her parents, Wanda is preceded in death by all of her siblings, brothers, Johnny “Mutt” Driggers, Floyd Driggers, Clarence Driggers, William Shaw Driggers, Clyde Driggers, and sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Maye and Geraldine Robinson.

Left to rejoice in her memory is her devoted husband of 51 years, James “Wendell” Johnson of their home; her son, Jamie Johnson of Laurinburg; daughters, Dominette Hogan (Jeff Hogan), and Wendy Johnson each of Laurinburg; her adored seven grandchildren, Brandon Hogan, Ashley Parker, Courtney Berry, Ayden Odom, Caleb Johnson, Dylan Marlow, Jalyn Johnson, and eleven great grandchildren.  She is also survived special nieces Lisa Banks and Deborah Williams plus many more nieces and nephews, extended family and her church family.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the Wagram Church of God with burial following in the Springhill Cemetery.   Visitation will be prior to services on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Wagram Church of God.  Services will be officiated by Rev. Ricky Brewer and Rev. Jerry Springs.

The family requests donations be given in Wanda’s memory to the Wagram Church of God, 21741 McKay Street, Wagram, NC  28396.
