Wade Hampton Scott, Sr., age 93 of Maxton passed away Saturday, February 1, 2020.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Northview Harvest Ministries, officiated by Pastor Kenneth Blease. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Wade was born April 12, 1926 in Marlboro County, SC, a son of the late Wade Hampton Scott and Maggie Scott Peele. He was the husband to the late Ruby Lee Scott who preceded him in death in 1975. He retired from Springs Mills after many year of service where he enjoyed his work as a machine operator. He was a long time member of Northview Harvest Ministries. He enjoyed farming and caring for animals. Each year, Wade loved celebrating his birthday with family and friends. Devoted to his family, he enjoyed spending time with each of them, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by his son, Gary Scott; daughter, Brenda Clark Cox; grandchildren, Stacy Scott, Rachel Lee Scott, Kimberly Michelle Dial, Richard Locklear and Katlin Jacobs and all of his siblings.
He leaves behind his sons, Wade H. Scott, Jr. (Sylvia) of Gibson, Randy Scott (Brenda) of Maxton; daughters, Patricia McConnell of Leesburg, FL, Linda Locklear, Vicky Archer, both of Maxton; twenty-two grandchildren, fifty-two great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
