Virginia Dale (Locklear) Locklear

Virginia Dale Locklear was the daughter of the late Farmie Locklear and Margie Ree Locklear born March 22, 1955 in Robeson County, North Carolina.  She was a devoted homemaker and caregiver to many.  Virginia dedicated her life to caring for others as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Maxton Medical, Scotland Memorial Hospital and  with the Campbell Soup Company for well over 30 years until her retirement.  After retirement, she enjoyed cooking, fishing, listening to music and gardening.  Above all, Virginia loved sharing her time with family especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She attended church at Oak Grove Baptist Church and was always very thankful for their prayers and support through the years.  Virginia will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, and  especially as a "Nonna".  She passed away to her Heavenly home at the age of 67 on March 11, 2023.   Her family is truly thankful for the 67 years that the Lord gave her and the wonderful memories they were blessed to make. 

Preceding her in death along with her parents is husband, Jessie Locklear; brothers, Jerry Locklear, Gary Locklear, Larry Locklear, and sister, Brenda Locklear.

Virginia is survived by her children, sons, Jessie Locklear, Jr., (Nicole) of Pembroke, Peter Lynn Locklear (Cheryel) of Suffolk, VA, Julius Devon Locklear ( Mary Melissa) of Maxton; her daughter, Amberine Marlree Bullard (Mike) of Laurinburg; and raised as her son, Brandon Phillip Locklear of Laurinburg; brothers, Fentress Locklear of Rowland, and Charles Locklear (Delinda) of Lumberton; sisters, Mary Liza Oxendine of Pembroke, Doris Locklear of Maxton, Janice Locklear of St. Pauls, Bessie Chmura of Lumberton, Vivian Smiling of Maxton, Deborah Locklear and Tammy Locklear both of Pembroke; fifteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery.   

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
