Vester Sessoms, born April 30, 1936 to Boyd and Margie Sanders Sessoms in Scotland County. He was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was a kind and gentle person, always willing to help anyone in need. Vester passed away at the age of 86 on August 4, 2022.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Margurite Tyndall, and brother, Boyd “Bug” Sessoms, Jr.
Vester worked at Springs, Inc., Southern Products, John Blue Company and Z.V. Pate, Inc., from where he retired. He did a little farming and gardening and, in the fall, he would pick his grapes for sale. He always enjoyed sharing his vegetables with family and friends.
He leaves behind his wife, Jeanette Norton Sessoms of 66 years; son, Tommy Sessoms and wife, Doris; Grandchildren, Amy McMillan and husband, Winston “Wyn” of Sneads Ferry, Adam Sessoms and wife, Candace of Laurel Hill; Great grandchildren, Graham and Abigail McMillan, Gavin, Cayleigh, and Piper Sessoms; brother, Thomas Eugene Sessoms and wife, Carolyn; special niece, Dorinda Wells, along with caregivers, Brenda McKenzie and Diane Morgan.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be given to Peele’s Chapel Wesleyan Church, 20781 McEachin Road, Laurel Hill, NC 28351 or Scotland Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353.
A graveside service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 7, 2022 in the Norton Cemetery officiated by Pastor Adam Smith. Family will receive friends following the service at graveside.
