Tyresa Ann Haywood Obituary

In the early morning of April 24, 2026, the beloved Tyresa Ann Mumford Haywood completed the journey to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by the love of her family.

Tyresa was born June 30, 1950, the loving daughter of the late George Lee Mumford and the late Ernestine Greene Mumford of Scotland County, NC.  She was a proud graduate in the Class of 1968 of Scotland High School.  She was a devoted homemaker along with her various jobs during her lifetime at Belk, Photo Lab, MegaForce and longtime career with Abbott Laboratories until retiring.  She loved her family and worked very hard to ensure they had the necessities of life.

For those who knew Tyresa admired her many gifts.  She was soft hearted with a loving spirit.  She had a great understanding and compassion for people and animals.  She was blessed with a beautiful and bold soprano voice singing in church and many childhood productions.   Her favorite things to do were attending church with her long-time friends, Tim and Kay English.  She attended many churches in the area throughout her life, growing up in the East Laurinburg Church of God and recently attending the Gibson Church of God.  Above all, Tyresa adored her family cherishing every moment share with each of them; especially her grandchildren.

Preceding her in death are her parents; son, Lawrence LaDon Bartell, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Patricia Barnes Bartell; grandson, Joshua Lee Holloway; and step-son, Matthew Haywood.

Tyresa leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 28 years, Johnny Vester Haywood of their home in Laurinburg; daughter, Jennifer Ann Bartell Troublefield (John) of Laurinburg; brother, Ernest Lee Mumford of North Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Trey Bartell, Michelle Anderson, Cody Lowery, Carlie Lowery and Kerstin Bartell; great grandchildren, Laiylah Bartell, Aiden Anderson, Paislee Anderson, Aubree Lowery, Ma'Siah Brown, and Kehlani McLean; and special nephew, Lee Mumford (Lynn) of Macon, GA.  She is also survived by a host of loving extended family and devoted friends.

Visitation with family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel followed by burial in Hillside Memorial Park.
