Timothy Belton Locklear

Timothy Belton Locklear, of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 65 surrounded by his loving family on April 18, 2024.

Timothy was the loving son of Doris Jean Grooms Locklear and the late John Belton Locklear born January 27, 1959 in Scotland County, NC.  He was an Electrician who truly enjoyed his work.  He also enjoyed spending his time fishing, watching the Washington Redskins and Duke Blue Devils play ball.  He was an avid NASCAR racing fan, especially of the late Dale Earnhardt. Being in the snow was also one of Timothy’s favorite enjoyments.   Above all, he adored his family and cherish time shared with each of them.  He will be remembered as a loving son, devoted father and grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Along with his father, he is predeceased by his wife, Betty T. Locklear and brother, Johnny “Buddy” Locklear.

Timothy is survived by his children, sons, Timothy Locklear (Sabrina) of Laurinburg, Mitchell Locklear (Jessica) of Maxton, Jonathan Locklear of Laurinburg, Adam Locklear (Bethany) of Gibson; daughters, Doris Locklear of Laurinburg, Vendala Baker (David) of Gibson; his mother, Doris Jean Locklear of Laurinburg; brothers, Charles Locklear (Diane), Richard Earl Locklear (Kathy), Donald Franklin Locklear (Sue), John Douglas Locklear (Lisa); sisters, Viola Jones, Nancy Jane Walker (Gilbert), Sarah Elizabeth “Lib” Locklear, Hattie Jean Hunt, Susan Brown (Ed), Fannie Marie Locklear (James); his sixteen adored grandchildren, a host of loving nieces, nephews and three special friends, Randy Blackwell, Phillip Tyndall and Jimmy Hunt.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.    

Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Peace Holiness Church officiated by Rev. John Cartrette, Rev. Gilbert Walker and Rev. Gerald McDowell.   Burial will follow the service in Hillside Memorial Park.
