Timothy Wayne Grooms, age 59 of Laurinburg departed this life in the late evening of March 24, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, and Papa, an American hero and first responder who will deeply be missed.
Tim was born August 12, 1966 in Chicago, Illinois, devoted son of the late Henry Thomas Grooms and the late Mary Frances Jacobs Grooms. He was a proud United States Army Veteran of Operation Desert Strom in Kuwait who was honored to serve his country and awarded the Bronze Star Medal. He enjoyed his career of 22 years with Corteva Agriscience until retiring. Tim served his community helping others volunteering with the Rescue Squad and the Wagram Fire Department.
He loved life and believed living life to the fullest. He loved riding his motorcycle and being a former member of Steel Rain Motorcycle Club which is a Veteran supported club. He loved traveling, camping and riding with his soulmate, Michele as they explored many wonderful and exciting journeys together. Above all, family was Tim's top priority treasuring every moment shared with each of them. He loved all children, gave the best hugs and worked hard to help anyone in need.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Linda Campbell, Teresa Gorden; and brother, Brian Grooms.
He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Michele Lynn Grooms; sons, Marcus Henry Grooms, Jacob Morgan (Jessica); daughters, Nicole Monsavoir (Emmanuel), Brandilynn Sabow (Charlie); his adored grandchildren, Jacob Morgan, Jr., Alden Morgan, Georgia, Savannah, Rose, Chris, Kaelyn; and Karlie Monsavoir expected in June 2026. He also has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and a host of devoted friends.
The celebration of life service will be held 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel followed by cemetery services with military and fireman honors in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will have a time of visitation following the service at graveside.
