Timothy Bruce "Timmy" Bates

Timothy Bruce "Timmy" Bates, age 58 of Maxton passed away Sunday, October 4, 2020.

Timmy was born November 26, 1961 in Scotland County, son of Bruce John Bates and the late Virginia Strickland Bates. He enjoyed attending Shady Grove Baptist Church. He loved to eat and watch television, and cruise around town. Timmy was a kind soul who never met a stranger. He most enjoyed visiting family and friends and will forever be remembered as a loving son, brother, nephew, and friend.

Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Stanton Strickland and Annie Ruth L. Strickland.

He is survived by his legal guardian, Paige Bates of the home; father, Bruce John Bates of Oregon; sister, Angela Bates of the home, along with a host of loving aunts, uncles and many extended family and friends.

A Graveside service will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2020 in Staton Strickland Family Cemetery.

COVID-19 mandates require facial masks or coverings and attendance will be limited for all services.
