During the midnight hour of August 31, 2024, the beloved Captain, Thomas “TK” Christopher Knight answered his final call to his Heavenly home at the age of 52 after a courageous battle with cancer. He lived a life of devotion to his family and service to his community.
Thomas was born May 4, 1972, son of Raymond Knight and the late Brenda Faye Smith Knight of Scotland County, NC. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, son and brother, along with being an honored fellow fireman. He shared his jovial personality with everyone he encountered always leaving them with a smile or laughter. He enjoyed his work as a meat cutter with Food Lion Supermarket for many years. TK was honored to serve his community as a fireman with the Laurel Hill Volunteer Fire Department for six years, and the Gibson Volunteer Fire Department for twenty-three years where he proudly served as their Captain.
TK was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a great cook, loved cooking out with family and especially cooking for his fellow fireman. He also enjoyed attending Piney Plains Holiness Church. Above all, TK loved sharing time with his family, especially with his adored grandchildren.
Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Whitt Knight of their home in Laurel Hill; sons, Jamie Knight (Kierrah), Brandon Knight (Jasmine); daughter, Casey Holcombe (Dustin) each of Laurel Hill; grandson, Austin Johnson of Fayetteville; and granddaughter, Alayna Knight; his father, Raymond Knight of Laurel Hill; and brother, James Knight (Gloria) of Laurel Hill. TK also leaves behind his loving extended family, any devoted friends and fellow firefighters.
