Thich Tan Truong

Mr. Thich Tan Truong, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 84 on November 4, 2023.

He was born October 10, 1939 in Phu Yen, Vietnam, son of the late Phuoc Tan Truong and Thuc Thi Dang.  He served in the military, First Sergeant of the 4th Infantry Division in Pleiku, Vietnam who proudly translated for the United States Army and United States Navy.   His talents in carpentry then led him to a long career doing what he loved.  He continued his membership of Hoa Nghia Parish in Vietnam. 

He considered himself a fashion icon and loved eating good food.  He also enjoyed volley ball and swimming in his younger years.  He was a devoted, cherished family man who will truly be missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Hong Phuong Thi Dinh; sons; Thinh Tan Truong, Toan Tan Truong, Thang Tan Truong, Thanh Tan Truong; daughters, Da Thoa Thi Truong, and Da Thy Thi Truong; brother, Tich Tan Truong and sister, Nga Thi Truong; his grandchildren, Khoa Truong, Thao Truong, Khanh Truong, Quynh Truong, Minh Truong, Phat Truong, Vy Truong, Dai Truong, Jeremy Nguyen, Jane Nguyen, My Truong and Khang Le.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.

The Funeral Mass Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at St. Mary Catholic Church of Laurinburg.   A private interment will be at a later time.
