Teddy Livingston Riggs, age 81 of Laurinburg passed away on March 31, 2026.
Teddy was the son of the late Ralph Livingston Riggs and the late Louise Parker Riggs born August 31, 1944 in New Hanover County, North Carolina. He was a United States Army Veteran who was extremely proud of his service to our country. Teddy was a dedicated employee of Haney’s Tire and Automotive Care where he truly enjoyed caring for their customers and service needs until retiring. He attended Pleasant View Presbyterian Church, served as a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge 305 and a former member of the Eastern Star.
In his leisure time, Teddy enjoyed time golfing, fishing, playing cards, along with watching NASCAR racing and NHRA drag racing. Above all, he loved his family sharing time and making treasured memories. Teddy will be remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will dearly be missed.
Along with his parents, preceding him in death are sisters, Billie Jean Millard and Ann Ill.
Teddy leaves behind his loving wife, Carolyn Baker Riggs of their home; daughters, Rebecca Riggs of Laurinburg, Tonia Whitehead and husband, Chuck of Belleville, IL; five grandchildren, Mark Holland, Sarah Holland (Kaylon), Parker Whitehead (Haley), Courtney Cook (Caleb), Cameron Whitehead; and three great grandchildren, Noah Cook, Hayden Cook, Adalynn Cook; brother-in-law, David Millard; brother and sister-in-law, Buddy (Brenda) Baker; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, many devoted friends and special K9 companion, Ella Mae.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel followed by burial with military honors in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will have a time of visitation prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be made to the family.
