Steven Dale Williams

Steven Dale Williams, age 68 of Charlotte, North Carolina, formerly of Laurinburg, passed away to his Heavenly home on June 5, 2022.

Steven was born February 16, 1954 in Scotland County, son of Juanita Mae Williams and the late William H. “Bill” Williams. He was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served our country in the United States Air Force and  Air National Guard. Following his time in service, Steven's career was in law enforcement, serving 18 years with the Laurinburg Police Department, and from 1992 until 2003 with the Pineville Police Department. During his lifetime, Steven loved helping and serving others through volunteerism with the Emergency Medical Services, and Fireman with the Laurinburg Fire Department. Steven also loved his time as a former NASCAR Jackman. For many years, he worked as an assistant with Butler Funeral Home and Heritage Funeral Home in Charlotte. Steven will always be remembered for his compassion and devotion to others, especially his family.

Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his uncle, William Harold Woodside and aunt, Virginia Woodside.

Steven is survived by his only child, Phillip E. Williams of Charlotte; mother, Juanita Williams of Laurinburg; sister, Diane Williams Graham of Pflugerville, TX; mother of his son, Marcia Smith of Charlotte, along with his extended family and many friends.  

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
