Shirley (Smith) Chrisco

Shirley Ann Smith Chrisco of Hamlet, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, departed this life at the age of 81 on October 21, 2024.

She was born August 5, 1943 in Richmond County, daughter of the late James Thomas Smith, Jr. and the late Ella Elizabeth Deaton Smith.  Shirley married the love of her life, Billy Hugh Chrisco, Sr., in September 1965 and together they shared a beautiful life until his passing in 1996. She served as a member of Outreach for Jesus in Hamlet. Shirley enjoyed working in her yard and taking care of her cats. She took great pleasure in creating a welcoming, warm home for her family where they shared many wonderful memories. Shirley will be dearly missed and fondly remembered for her love and devotion to her family.

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by brothers, James Everett Smith and William Eugene Smith.

Left to cherish her memory are children, Terrie Ann Chrisco of Hamlet and Billy Hugh Chrisco, Jr. of Marston; sisters, Kathy Smith Edwards (James) and Kimberly Smith Hollowell (Terry); grandchildren, Brittany Nicole Robinson and James Michael Robinson; and great-grandchildren, Michael Brett Robinson, James Kyle Robinson, and Easton James Robinson; along with many loving extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Smith Cemetery, Hamlet, NC.

Visitation will be held prior to services on Thursday, beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
