Shirleen Wallen Amaral, age 59 of Red Springs passed away, Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
Shirleen was born April 7, 1961 in Robeson County, daughter of the late Gary Wallen and Vondola Maynor Locklear. She worked many years serving the community as a Licensed Nurse Practitioner and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Pembroke. She enjoyed crafting, baking, and fishing. She most enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Shirleen will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Michael Lamarr Amaral.
Shirleen is survived by her loving husband, Joseph Michael Amaral of the home; sons, Joseph Victor Amaral of Laurinburg, Terry Christian Amaral of Red Springs; daughters, Sonia Amaral of Red Springs, Krystal Amaral Tedder (Stephen) of Fayetteville, Tanisha Amaral of Laurinburg; step-father, Zeb Locklear of Pembroke; brother, Kevin Wallen of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Sandra Jacobs of Raleigh, Vickie Jackson of Raeford; nine grandchildren, father and mother in-law Herbert and Catherine Amaral of Red Springs, along with many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
