Sherry Marie Scholl Lee, beloved mother, precious grandma, nana, Gigi, sister aunt and friend departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 77 on January 22, 2025.
Born on May 26, 1947, Sherry was the daughter of the late Robert Scholl, Jr., and Pearl Stubbs Scholl of Scotland County, NC. In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, she worked many years in manufacturing with the Eaton Corporation following with F.C.C. until retiring. She was a Godly woman who faithfully prayed and witnessed to others who loved her church serving as a member of Tabernacle Spirit Church of Ghio.
Sherry enjoyed baking and sharing meals with others, having good long telephone conversations with family and friends, doing water aerobics and working in her yard. Her greatest joy came from time shared with her family, especially with her cherished grandchildren. Everyone will dearly miss her jovial spirit and her long southern goodbyes.
She is preceded in death by her son, Randall Allan Lee; siblings, Robert “Bobby” Scholl III, Willie “Sonny” Scholl, Clyde “Tap” Scholl; special nieces Teri Scholl and Toni Scholl.
Sherry is survived by her daughter, Mitzi Lee Byrd and husband, Dr. Jeffrey Byrd of Winterville, NC; four grandchildren, Alyssa Lee (Hunter Phillips), Parker Byrd, Gracen Byrd, Brinley Byrd, and great grandson, Greyler “Sugar Foot” Phillips; her sister, Olivia Hill of Raleigh; a host of nieces, nephews, her church family and many devoted friends.
Services to celebrate Sherry’s life will be held on Sunday, January 26th at 3:00 p.m. in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. A private interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests donations be given in Sherry’s memory to Tabernacle Spirit Church of Ghio, Post Office Box 545, Hamlet, NC 28345.
