Mr. Sherman Odell Boger of Ellerbe, NC, departed this life at the age of 90 on August 19, 2025.
He was the loving son of the late Reid and Evelyn Lula Wall Boger, born May 6, 1935 in Davie County, NC. Sherman had a long successful career in plumbing as the owner-operator of Beach Plumbing in Pompano Beach, FL until retiring. He served as a devoted member of the Community Church. Sherman was a train enthusiast who enjoyed being a member of the Train Collector Association. He also enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and was a master builder of all things. His greatest joy was time spent with family and the memories they shared. Sherman was a loving husband, adored father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted friend.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers, Jesse H. Boger, J. Harold Boger, Eugene Boger, Rufus Boger; sisters, Margaret McLemore, Madeline Shelton, and Gladys Boger.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife of 68 years, Inez Nichols Boger of the home; son, Sherman “Dale” Boger (Kimberly) of Deltona, FL; daughter, Sharon McKenzie (Rusty) of Laurinburg; ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at the Community Church with burial following in the Northam Cemetery, Rockingham, NC. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church.
