Shante Dawn Moore

Miss Shante Dawn Moore, age 31 of Rowland, North Carolina, departed this life on July 4, 2025 at 7:04 PM in Chapel Hill, North Carolina surrounded by the love of her family and friends.   She was born July 30, 1993 to her adoring parents, Michael Moore of Lake Waccamaw, and Connie Locklear of the home in Maxton,

Along with her parents, Shante is survived by her siblings, brothers, Bradley (Taylor) Moore of Lake Waccamaw, NC, Layton Rogers, Jr., of Pembroke, NC; sisters, Tabitha Brianna Moore of Lumberton, NC, and Alexis Nicole Moore of Maxton, NC.  She also leaves behind a host of loving family and many friends.  

As many of you know, Shante had a very bold and strong personality.  She was the center of attention, and the Baby to all.  She gave the biggest hugs and sneakiest kisses.  As we all know if she ever got a hold of your ear, she would have you calling on Jesus.  Shante’s smile and laughter would light up a room.  Just the slight bit of noise like a horn, lawn mower, four wheelers, radio, and even a door opening and closing with a little squeak would send her into fall out laughter. 

Shante loved her church and church family at The Lord’s House.  She also had her favorites like balloons, balls, and shaky toys, along with her television characters, Barney, Elmo, Teletubbies, and Mickey Mouse.   

As we the family think about our sweet Baby Girl walking up to Heaven’s door, it gives us peace and a sense of comfort that our Baby Girl can walk, talk, and run for the first time in her precious life.  May you be dancing and signing with the angels, just like you loved to sing with Barney. Even though you are not here we will always remember your super-dee-duper-spirit. 

Her Home Going Celebration Services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at The Lord’s House Church in Rowland.  Burial will be following in the Locklear Family Cemetery, Oxendine School Road, Maxton, NC.  

Visitation will be from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at The Lord's House Church.
