Mrs. Sarah Margaret Bailey Evans of Wagram, NC passed to her Heavenly home at the age of 100 on the evening of June 6, 2025. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will deeply be missed.
Sarah was born September 26, 1924 in Lancaster, South Carolina, daughter of the late Thomas Vance Bailey and the late Lizzie Cauthen Bailey. She was the beloved wife of 65 years to the late Samuel G. Evans preceding her in death in 2014. Along with her parents and husband, Sarah is preceded in death by brothers, Albert Bailey, Pete Bailey, Edward Bailey, and sister, Ethel Blackman. Surviving are her daughters, Sarah Paulette Evans (Tommy) of Wake Forest, NC, and Janice Evans Wilkinson (Mike) of Madison, NC; two grandchildren, Kyle Wilkinson (Farren) of Madison, NC and Aaron Wilkinson (Chasity) of Stoneville, NC; her adored great grandchildren, Autumn Wilkinson, Dailei-Ann Wilkinson, Tucker Ore, Karlyn Manuel, Brynn Manuel; beloved niece, Melanie Fisher (Don) and great nephew, Ben Fisher. She also leaves behind her precious church family and the Wagram community along with many devoted friends.
Mrs. Sarah has been in the Wagram Community since 1965 where she and Mr. Evans raised their family in a loving Christian home. She was a life-long member of the Spring Hill Baptist Church where she served in many capacities and loving her church family as her own. She loved working in her yard and proudly known for her beautiful flowers. She was a delightful lady and a pillar of the community who will deeply be missed by all who knew and loved her.
The Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the Spring Hill Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Jeff Stone. Visitation with the family will follow the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to be given to the Spring Hill Baptist Church, P. O. Box 195, Wagram, NC 28396.
