Sally Ann Stanton Wright of Laurinburg departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 86 on August 4, 2025.
She was born July 23, 1939 in Cumberland County, NC, loving daughter of the late John Pope Stanton and the late Helen Wright Stanton. She was a loving wife of the late Jennings Wright, Jr., a devoted homemaker and a valued employee of L.O.F / Pilkington Glass for many devoted years until retiring. She served as a faithful member of the East Laurinburg Baptist Church. Sally enjoyed fishing, making ceramics and painting, was an amazing cook known for her cornbread. Her greatest joy was time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Sally was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by brother, John “Buddy” Stanton.
Left to cherish her memory is son, Jennings Wright III and wife, Dawn of Laurinburg; daughters, Donna Hulon of Laurinburg, Jeanna Jorgensen and husband, Mark of Laurinburg; sister, Mary Helen Rivers of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Candace Hulon, Bryant Wright, Tiffany W. Godwin (Justin), Richard Parrish (Brittany), Brittany Parrish, Gregory Jorgenson (Lexi), Emily Skipper (Lawson); and fifteen great-grandchildren; along with her loving extended family and friends.
Services will be held at graveside 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, 2025 in the Laurinburg Memorial Park officiated by Pastor Richard Tyson.
In memory of Mrs. Wright, donations are requested to be given to the East Laurinburg Baptist Church.
