SFC. John Matthew Chapman

SFC. John Matthew Chapman, US Army, of Augusta, GA, formerly of Laurinburg departed this life at the age of 34 on Wednesday, May 3, 2023. 

John was born June 22, 1988 in Marlboro County, SC, the loving son of Donna Ann Butler Wilson and the late Michael Dale Chapman. SFC John Chapman was proudly serving his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed cooking a delicious meal and fishing. His greatest enjoyment came from the time he spent with his family and friends.  He was an adored son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved mother, Donna Ann Wilson (Jim) of Laurinburg, NC; brother, Michael Chapman of Laurinburg, NC; sister, Traci McDuffie (Arthur) of Laurel Hill, NC; niece and nephews, Joseph Moore, Matthew McDuffie, and Allyson McDuffie; along with a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral Services to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the St. David Episcopal Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. 

The family will have a time of visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 11, 2023 St. David Episcopal Church.

Memorial donations are requested to be given to the Disable Veterans Association, Wounded Warriors or any military oriented charity.
