Ruby Lockey Tyndall

Ruby Lee Lockey Tyndall loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend departed this life at the age of 87 on October 7, 2024.

She was born March 7, 1937 in Scotland County, NC, daughter of the late Johnnie and Sallie Helen Bullard Lockey. Ruby was a graduate of Gibson High School, where she was a member of the basketball team, receiving the Most Athletic Award her senior year.  She retired from West Point Stevens, Inc., after 30 years of devoted service.  Prior to her illness, Ruby served as a member of Northview Harvest Ministries. She enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling, and taking care of children. Ruby especially loved spending time with her family and the memories they shared. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Jessie Tyndall; son, Jessie Ray Tyndall; daughter, Angie Tyndall Mitchell; brothers, Stephen Lockey, Jimmy Lockey; and sister, Nellie Florence Lockey Yarborough.

Ruby is survived by son, Gary Tyndall of Laurel Hill; daughter, Wanda Quick of Laurinburg; son-in-law, Christopher Brent Mitchell of Bennettsville, SC; brother, Kenneth “Wayne” Lockey of McColl, SC; sister-in-law, Kay Lockey of McColl, SC; grandchildren, Tanya Edge, Gary Tyndall, Amber Tyndall, Jonathan Quick, Tracy Quick, Kris Tyndall, Makenna Mitchell, Angela Turnnel, Brandon Tyndall, Chris Stewart and ten great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.

A Graveside service will be held following the visitation at 3:00 p.m. on Monday at Rogers Cemetery, McColl, SC.
