Roy "Michael" Gilmore Jr

On the late evening of August 22, 2024, the beloved Roy Michael Gilmore, Jr., departed this life at the age of 42 after a courageous battle from illness.  He was a loving son, devoted brother, uncle and friend who will truly be missed.

Michael was born April 29, 1982 to his adoring parents, Roy Michael Gilmore, Sr., and Linda Brockman Gilmore of Laurinburg, North Carolina.  His delightful smile and joyous personality delighted everyone he encountered. He loved being the life of the party and making others laugh.  Michael loved water sports, whether he was swimming, boating or water skiing.  He also enjoyed skating and bowling. Above all, he loved sharing time with his family and devoted friends.

Along with his parents, Mike and Linda, Michael is survived by his brother, Billy “Keith” Gilmore (Leslie) of Laurinburg; his adored nephews, Billy Keith Gilmore, Jr., Weston Gilmore, Benjamin Gilmore and niece, Charlotte “Charlie” Gilmore; his aunt, uncles, many cousins, and special friends, Chilo Gonzalez and Ronald Berry.

Visitation will be on Monday evening, August 26th from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service.  Funeral services celebrating Michael’s life will be held 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 27th at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.
