Roy Lee Bryant

Roy Lee Bryant was born January 19, 1938 in Robeson County, a son of the late Walter Bryant and Mary Jacobs Bryant.  After 36 years of loyal service, Roy retired as a Heavy Equipment Operator with the City of Laurinburg Public Works Department.  A devoted family man, he loved spending leisure time with his family, especially with grandchildren.   He also enjoyed riding, gardening, sitting in his swing, and meeting friends for breakfast at Bojangles’.   Roy passed away at the age of 82 on Friday, May 15, 2020.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by daughters, Stephanie Bryant Rodgers and Donna Faye Head; brothers, Chester Lee “Pop” Bryant and John Walter Bryant.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carrie Clark Bryant of the home; daughter, Windie Bryant Clark of McColl, SC; brothers, Jesse Walter Bryant (Ann) of Laurinburg, Thomas Allen Bryant (Ilene) of Hamlet, James Bryant (Virginia) of Laurinburg, Berlin Bryant of Laurinburg; sisters, Mary Jane Bryant and Betty Bryant Haywood (Earl) both of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Chasity Clark Dew (Cole), Rickey Allen Clark, Jr., Colin Martin Rodgers (Mandy), Troy Lee Clark (Brittany); great grandchildren, Alayla “Lucy” Dew, Rickey Allen Clark, III (Bubba), Aiden Jackson Clark, Kinsley Rebecca Clark; his many nieces, nephews; a host of loving family and special friends, Yancy Hunt and Ervin Taylor.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 in Laurinburg Memorial Park officiated by Rev. Ervin Taylor and Bradley Lewis.

Family viewing will be 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
