Roxie Marie Goodwin Foland of Gibson departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 77 on Monday, December 29, 2025.
She was born June 7, 1948 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, only daughter of the late John Clyde Goodwin, Sr., and the late Dorothy Rush Goodwin. Roxie was a beloved Teacher’s Assistant within the Scotland County School System for many dedicated years until retiring. She served as a faithful member of St. John United Methodist Church. Roxie enjoyed sharing her talent making scarfs and hats for the cancer center. Holidays were very special to her but her greatest pleasure came from time spent with family, especially her grandchildren. Roxie’s love for her husband, Bill was evident and shown bright to all those who knew and loved her. She was an adored wife, mother, grandmother, devoted sister, and friend who will be truly missed.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, John Clyde Goodwin, Jr., and Jackie Goodwin.
Left to rejoice in her memory is husband, William “Bill” Foland of the home; sons, William “Billy” Foland (Cynthia) of Laurinburg; daughter, Tonya Foland (Stephanie) of Hope Mills; grandchildren, Parker Foland, Kaitlyn Foland, Logan Foland, Abrianna Foland; and K-9, Gabby Foland; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026 at St. John United Methodist Church with burial following in Pinecrest Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held Sunday, January 4, 2026 beginning 5:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
