Mr. Ronald Locklear of Laurinburg passed away at the age of 67 on May 5, 2023.
Born April 9, 1956 in Robeson County, Ronald was a son of the late James Locklear and the late Betty Lou Locklear. He was a devoted husband, loving father and adored PaPa to his family. He was a proud United States Army Veteran and worked many dedicated years with Butler Manufacturing until his retirement. He served as a faithful member of the Calvary Crusade Tabernacle in Rockingham, NC. Ronald enjoyed cutting grass, plowing the garden and was a master on working on anything broken. He also enjoyed watching sports and was an avid fan of the Washington Red Skins. Above all, Ronald was a devoted family man who cherished sharing his home and time with each of those he loved.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Jr McMillian.
Ronald leaves behind his loving wife of 30 years, Barbara McGirt Locklear of their home; sons, Charles Curtis Locklear ( Birgit) of Hughesville, MD, Gerald Wayne Locklear of Marston, NC, Ronnie Locklear ( Danielle) of Wagram, NC; daughters, Joanne Locklear of Maxton, NC, Sherann Barton ( Lloyd Barton ) of Maxton, NC, Mary Lou Locklear ( Tommy Jacobs) of Laurinburg, NC, Mary Linda Locklear-Bryant ( Calvin Bryant ) of Laurinburg, NC, Connie Locklear of Laurinburg, NC, Lillian Michelle Locklear ( Lee Brooks) of Laurinburg, NC; brothers, Gregory Locklear ( Ellen) of Lumberton, NC; sisters, Peggy Locklear ( Dennis Stewart) of Maxton, NC, Jamie Locklear of Maxton, NC, Donetta Kearns of Lumberton, NC, Mattie Locklear (Demetrius Locklear) of Maxton, NC, Vanessa Locklear of Lumberton, NC; twenty three grandchildren including Barbara Powe (Robert Powe), Malia Locklear, John Locklear, Christian Locklear and Isabella Locklear of the home; thirty four great grandchildren; his many nieces and nephews along with a host of loving extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May l0, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. in the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Robert Powe. Burial with military honors will follow in Lumbee Memorial Gardens. A time of visitation will be prior to services on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home and following the service at graveside.
