SFC Rogelio “Roy” Castro Robles, US Army, Retired age 72 of Fayetteville passed away on July 13, 2024.
He was born on September 18, 1951 in Crystal City, TX, loving son of the late Ighacio Borrego and the late Natalia Castro. Roy proudly served his country with the United States Army retiring as Sergeant First Class after twenty-two years of honorable service. His love of tinkering and talent as a handyman led to the founding of his Home Improvement Business, where he was fondly known as “Roy Fix It”. Roy was an avid Carolina Panthers fan and loved working on his truck. His greatest enjoyment came from sharing time with his family and being PaPa to his grandchildren. Roy was a loving husband, adored father, grandfather, great-grandfather, beloved brother, and friend who will be truly missed.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by son, Michael Rodney Robles; and his many sisters and brother.
Roy is survived by his wife, Joyce Faye Stevens Robles of the home; daughters, Natalia Krystyna Robles of Fayetteville; Bryanna Faith Robles, raised as a daughter; brother, Victor Borrego of Florida; sister, Annie Steven Edwards of Cheraw; granddaughter, Crystal Starr Robles; great-grandchildren, Alexis Faye Chavis, Alleigha Rehanne Chavis, Allyssa Lehanne Chavis, Izaiah Michael Chavis, Jordan Dawson, Briella Dream Robles-Dawson ; mother-in-law, Marjorie Beck of Laurinburg; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with military honors will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 19, 2024 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
