Robert Dixon Milligan

Robert Dixon Milligan, age 57 of Maxton, NC departed this life on December 23, 2025.

He was born February 1, 1968 in Scotland County, the loving son of Annie “Jackie” Chavis and the late Robert Milligan, Sr. Robert was a valued employee, working in the construction industry for many dedicated years. He enjoyed going fishing, raking his yard, and finding a good deal at yard sales. His greatest joy was time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. Robert was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Doris Milligan Deese of the home; sons, Robert Deon Milligan of Maxton, Carlos Edward Milligan of Maxton, Kendrick Jernigan of Ohio; daughters, Ashley Milligan Kells (Ranzino) of Red Springs, Abreonna Z. Jacobs (Dillon) of Maxton, Keyonna Deese of Maxton; mother, Jackie Chavis; brothers, Bill Milligan (Brittany), Paul Milligan; sister, Jackie Milligan; and grandchildren, Ziesha Kells, NioTuscani Locklear, Ziasia Kells, Zionia Kells, Johaven Milligan, Alaina Seaberry, Katona Jacobs, and Halonna Jacobs; along with many loving extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Little Mission Holiness Church Cemetery. 

Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday beginning 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
