Robert Wilson Fulton, Jr., age 83 of Laurinburg, NC, formerly of Union County, NC, passed away on June 20, 2026.
He was born March 3, 1943 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, adored son of the late Robert Wilson Fulton, Sr., and the late Peggy James Fulton. Robert earned his PhD at the University of Florida and was a member of the Florida Outdoor Writers Association. He was a Vietnam War Veteran who proudly served in the United States Army receiving the rank of Sergeant. Robert had a fulfilling career with over fifty years of teaching within the Union County Public School system. Through the years he was not only a teacher, but was also a gifted writer, editor, and creative storyteller. Robert loved nature and cherished his time outdoors bird watching, fly fishing, and out on the water kayaking. He will be greatly missed who all who had the pleasure to know and love him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Miriam Agnes Grier Fulton; and brother, James Bitton “Britt” Fulton.
Robert is survived by son, Robert Wilson Fulton, III (Nikki) of Monroe; daughters, Alison Fulton Gordon (Mark) of Wilmington, Jennifer Fulton Moon of Satellite Beach, Florida; and grandchildren, “B” Fulton, Logan Fulton, Holden Miller, Emma Gordon, Kaitlyn Gordon, Makena Gordon, Maleah Moon, and Kingston Moon; along with many loving extended family and friends.
