Robert Franklin Deaver I

Robert Franklin Deaver I, 85 of McColl, South Carolina, passed away on June 27, 2025 at Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, NC.

Mr. Deaver was an active member of McColl First Baptist Church. He also served on the McColl Fire Department for over 40 Years where he was considered a lifetime member. Additionally, he was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge. He retired from Harris Teeter after over 40 years of service.

He was born on October 21, 1939, in Bladen County, NC to the late Johnnie P. Deaver and Onita Norris Deaver. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Anita Delinda “Linda” Deaver.

Mr. Deaver is survived by his three children, Robert Franklin Deaver II (Janice) of Jacksonville, FL, Garry Deaver (Amanda) of Bennettsville, SC, and Ashley Deaver of McColl, SC; brothers, Donald “Mickey” Deaver of Cheraw, SC and Charles Deaver of Wallace, SC; sister, Shelby Hyatt of Cheraw, SC; five grandchildren, Robert Franklin Deaver III of Jacksonville, FL, Joy Lynn Locklear of Bennettsville, SC, Matthew Deaver (Katherine) of Fulton, MO, Dakota Deaver (Marissa) of Rockingham, NC, and Jermaine “JR” McKinnon of McColl, SC; one step granddaughter, Miranda Steen (Lorina) of Bennettsville, SC; as well as six great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous friends.

The family will have a memorial service 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at the McColl First Baptist Church.   

Visitation will be prior to the service on Wednesday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church.
