Obituary

Richard “Dick” Joseph Glidden of Wagram, North Carolina passed away at the age of 83 on May 19, 2023.

Born in New York City, New York on January 18, 1940, he was the son of the late Floyd and Isabel Alicea Glidden.  Dick worked as an engineer and retired from the Anheuser-Busch Company after many years of service.  He also worked as a starter / ranger at the Legacy Golf Course for many years which he thoroughly enjoyed.

He is survived by wife, Candace “Candy” Glidden; two sons, Dominic Glidden (Maria), and David Glidden; twin brother, Robert Glidden (Marge); three granddaughters, one grandson, three great granddaughters, and his four-legged pup, Sadie: along with a host of loving nieces and nephews. 

Dick loved playing golf and had 3 holes-in-one in the same year, the first being on his 70th Birthday.

The memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the Southern Pines United Methodist Church, 175 Midland Road, Southern Pines, NC   28387.

Any memorial gifts can be made to the Southern Pines United Methodist Church.
