Rev. Jimmy "Jim" Dale Dickerson, Sr.

Rev. Jimmy "Jim" Dale Dickerson, Sr., of Laurel Hill, departed this life for his Heavenly home at the age of 71 on February 24, 2025.

Jim was born September 22, 1953 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, loving son of the late Donald Dickerson, Sr., and the late Anna Russell Dickerson. Jim served in Taiwan/Saigon with the United States Air Force from 1971-1975. He married his true love on May 22, 1973 with whom he shared a wonderful life. He was a retired Pastor and Bishop who faithfully served in the Church of God of Prophecy. He served as the Chaplain with the Johnston County Sheriff Department and volunteered with the Samaritan Purse Ministry. Jim also had a long successful career in accounting as the owner-operator of the Accounting House.  He enjoyed reading, collecting pens, golfing, and working on computers. He was a loving husband, adored father, grandfather, great-grandfather, devoted brother, uncle, and friend who will be dearly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Steven Dickerson.

Left to cherish his memory is his adored wife 51 years, Judy Rierson Dickerson of the home; sons, Jimmy “Jimbo” D. Dickerson, Jr., (Melisssa) of Laurel Hill, Jonathan “Jon” Dickerson of Spring Hope; brother, Donald Dickerson, Jr., of Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jordan Dickerson (Sarah), Mark Radford, Matt Radford (Bridget), Cassidy Oxendine (Aaron), Madison Radford, Aleesha “AJ” Barton (Josh); great-grandchildren, Emilee, Mason, Annsleigh, Aiden, Ezra, Blakelynn, Nakiya, Kaylee, Isabella, Malachi, and Raven; nephew, Cliff Dickerson of Oklahoma; nieces, Tricia Pfister (Fred) of Tampa, Fl, Dawnette Taylor (Cory) of Oklahoma City, Ok; along with many loving extended family and friends.

The Celebration of Life Memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.  Visitation with the family will follow the service on at the funeral home.
