Raymond Knight of Laurel Hill, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and devoted friend of many passed away at the age of 82 on January 31, 2025.
Raymond was born November 30, 1942, son of the late Gilbert and Polly Locklear Knight of Scotland County, NC. He was the devoted husband of 55 years to the late Brenda Faye Smith Knight who passed in 2021. He enjoyed his working career in manufacturing with Armstrong Rubber (Kordsa), textiles with Waverly Mills and loved his time when farming. He loved his old tractor and gardening, attending auctions, and caring for animals, especially his dogs. He also faithfully attended Piney Plains Pentecostal Holiness Church. Raymond cherished his family and loved sharing time with his grandchildren. He will dearly be missed by all who loved and knew him.
Along with his parents and wife, preceding him in death are son, Thomas T.K. Knight and infant son, Jamie Knight; brothers, Wilbert Knight and Love Knight.
Mr. Knight is survived by his son, James Knight (Gloria) of Laurel Hill; daughter-in-law, Sherry Knight of Laurel Hill; brother, Ronnie Knight (Pat); sisters, Lillie Mae “Rabbit” Smith, Joanne Smith, Marcella Grainger (Bill); his grandchildren, Jamie Knight (Kierrah), Casey Holcombe (Dustin), Shane Knight (Chloe), Brandon Knight (Jasmine), Kaleb Knight (Christi), Josh Medlin; and great grandchildren, Alayna Knight, Owen Knight, Conway Knight, Jason Medlin, Adalyn Medlin; a host of nieces, nephews and his extended loving family.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Pinecrest Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services on Monday beginning at 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
