Pleaz Evans Clark, Jr., known by his family and friends as “Buddy” was the son of the late Pleaz Evans Clark, Sr., and Evelyn Ransom Clark born October 15, 1953 in Scotland County, North Carolina. He graduated from Scotland High School with the class of 1971 and attended Pembroke State University. Following graduation, Buddy enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served our Nation from 1973 until 1976. He had a long career with Pilkington Glass retiring in 2001 after 21 years of service. Buddy was a faithful member of the Faith Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder, President of Presbyterian Men, and on the Building and Grounds Committee. He also enjoyed his many hobbies of hunting, fishing, riding his Harley, watching television and especially talking with his friends. Buddy passed away at the age of 68 on June 16, 2022, an exceptional man who will truly be missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by sister-in-law, Dorothy Russell Seals.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Carol Russell Clark of their home in Laurel Hill; and sister-in-law, Helen Jean Russell Ford of Charleston, SC. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of other family and his many friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Faith Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Jeff Mercer. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
