Peggy Randleman Locklear

Mrs. Peggy Randleman Locklear of Gibson, NC, departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 85 on May 28, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Buford Randleman, Sr., and the late Mildred Moore Randleman, born September 9, 1939 in Guilford County, NC. Along with being a homemaker who always kept a clean home, she worked in textiles for many dedicated years with JP Stevens, Inc., until retiring. Peggy served as a faithful member of Grace Chapel Holiness Church where she was lovingly considered the “Mother of the Church” by her church family. She was a gifted musician who loved playing the piano, accordion, and singing. Peggy also enjoyed going fishing, trips to the beach, and finding treasures at yard sales. Her greatest joy came from time shared with her family, friends, and her K-9 companion, Buddy. Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and devoted friend who will be dearly missed.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lee Locklear; daughter, Karen Ruiz; and siblings, Marcell Cook, Sheryl Padron, Bonnie Jean Randleman, and Buford “Bud” Randleman, Jr.

Left to cherish her memory is daughter, Pam Wilkins (Darrell) of Gibson; grandchildren, Amy Albright (Dalton) and Carrie Bryant (Jonathan); great-grandchildren, Emberleigh Albright, Genevieve Albright, Gideon Albright, Maylee Bryant, Adalyn Bryant, John-Carter Bryant, and Sadie Bryant; along with many loving extended family and friends.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the wonderful caretakers, Denice Clark, Amy Albright, and Dawn Randleman for their compassionate care. Also, Goshen Medical staff, Denise Gallops, Donna Woodard and Gentiva Hospice nurses, Julie Jones, Deature Litaker, Mandy Grant, and Senara Teal. Along with those who helped the family through their journey, church family, Linda Chappell, Bea Locklear, Sandra Ganus, Sherry Cartrette, and Vickie Watlington.

Funeral services will be held  3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at the Grace Chapel Holiness Church with burial following in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be held prior to the services beginning 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
