Pattie Sue Watts Painter

Pattie Sue Watts Painter loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend departed this life at the age of 84 on March 10, 2025.

She was born in Robeson County on December 13, 1940, adored daughter of the late Fred and Lillie Mae Arnette Watts. Along with being a homemaker, Pattie worked for many dedicated years with JP Stevens, Inc. until retiring. She served as a member of Pleasant View Presbyterian Church. Pattie enjoyed bird watching, being outdoors tending to her garden, flowers, and feeding the many birds that came to visit. She also enjoyed traveling to the beach and especially loved time spent with her family and the memories they shared.  Pattie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by adored husband, Paul Lester Painter; and brothers, Frank Watts and Paul Watts.

Pattie leaves behind daughters, Annette Bowyer and special son-in law, Buck of Mt. Gilead, Denise Knight of Laurinburg; brother, Robert Watts and wife, Donna of Rowland; grandchildren, Courtney Locklear Stutts and husband, David and Jason White and wife, Maria; and six great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend special love and appreciation to son-in-law, Buck Bowyer, sister-in-love, Sallie Watts, and close and loving friends, Martha Strickland, Marjorie Brigman, and John Dunn.   

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in Hillside Memorial Park.

Visitation will be held prior to the services from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.  on Saturday at the funeral home.
