Patsy Dial Brayboy of Laurinburg, NC departed this life to be with her Lord at the age of 71 on October 29, 2023.
She was the daughter of the late Willie “Red” Dial and the late Letha Mae Strickland Dial, born January 7, 1952 in Scotland County, NC. Patsy was a member of Refuge Holiness Church where she loved to worship and sing in the choir. Along with being a homemaker, she worked in housekeeping with St. Andrews University for many devoted years until retiring. Patsy took the love of cleaning to create a warm and inviting home for her family. She also loved caring for her flower gardens and her kittens. Patsy was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Joe Kelly Brayboy; son, Gregory “Greg” Dean Smith; and sisters, Ruth Sweat and Betty Hunt.
Patsy is survived by son, Edward “Lee” Smith, Jr., of Laurinburg; daughters, Wendy Jones (Michael) of Laurinburg, and Tammie Hendrix (David) of Stanfield; brothers, Willie Dial of Laurinburg, Tommy Dial of Gibson; sister, Effie D. Quick of Laurinburg; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023 at Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following in the Stewartsville Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the funeral home.
