Patricia Evans McKenzie

Patricia Evans McKenzie, age 85 of Matthews, NC, formerly of Maxton, passed away on September 2, 2025.

She was born June 4, 1940 in Scotland County, the adored daughter of the late James Lawrence Evans and the late Annie Baker Evans. Patricia worked as a Business Manager for many devoted years with Blume Office Supply until retiring. She enjoyed reading a good book, listening to good music, and dancing. In her younger years, she loved shagging and could be found dancing through the house until her health failed. Her greatest joy came from time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Patricia will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by daughter, Denise McKenzie Caudle of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, James R. “Butch” Evans and wife, Jean of Matthews; two adored grandchildren and one precious great-grandchild; along with her loving extended family and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 at Hillside Memorial Park.
