Owen Lawrence Bruner

Owen Lawrence Bruner, son of Jerry and Leslie Bruner, passed away at the age of 35 on May 27, 2026. 

Owen had a kind heart and a compassionate spirit, and he loved deeply. Owen had an extensive knowledge of world and military history, an eclectic taste in music, and a fondness for all things outdoors. He was an enthusiastic conservationist. He felt most at home in the mountains of North Carolina. A lifetime hobbyist, Owen had found keen interest in topics ranging from Warhammer 40K to leading a Dolly Parton fan club. He loved collecting oddities and was an aspiring beekeeper. Owen was an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Campbell University.

Owen is survived by his parents, Jerry and Leslie Bruner of Laurinburg, NC, his siblings, Clay Bruner of Hampstead, NC, Scott Bruner (Nicole) of Mt Pleasant, SC, Chase Bruner of Cornwall Bridge, CT and Abby Bruner (Lucas) of Hampstead, NC, his niece Lennon whom he adored; along with a large and wonderful group of aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

The family will have a private gathering to honor and remember Owen.
