Nellie Pruitte Norton

Mrs. Nellie Pruitte Norton departed this life for her Heavenly home at the age of 81 on January 21, 2026. She was born February 21, 1944 in Laurinburg, NC, loving daughter of the late Donnie Wilbert Pruitte and Ella Mae Barber Pruitte. 

Nellie married the love of her life, the late Levey Thomas Norton on January 21, 1960 sharing a beautiful life together for 62 years until his passing in 2023.  They were rejoined in Heaven on their 65th Wedding Anniversary now celebrating eternity with Jesus whom they both faithfully served their entire lives.  She was a beloved homemaker who cherished sharing time with her family.  She loved serving in church, caring for any and all kinds of animals, cooking and sharing meals with her family.  Nellie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will deeply be missed by all. 

Along with her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by brother, James Alvin Pruitte; sisters, Shirley Goodson and JoAnne Bousman.

Mrs. Nellie leaves behind her children, son, Levey “Tommy” Norton, Jr., of Palm Coast, FL; and daughter, Laura Norton Sanders of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, Matthew Sanders, Wesley Norton, Lane Norton, Hunter Norton; her brother, Johnny Wade Pruitte, Sr., and wife Carolyn of Laurel Hill, NC; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews and extended family.  

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel.   Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the Oak Ridge Cemetery, St. Pauls, NC.     The family will have a time of visitation prior to the service on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

The family requests in lieu of flowers for memorial donations be given to her church, Calvary Cornerstone Holiness Church, 337 S. Elizabeth Street, St. Pauls, NC  28384.
