Nellie Dial Hatcher, age 86 of Laurinburg passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022.
Nellie was born May 9, 1936 in Robeson County, youngest of thirteen children of the late Clifton Dial and Ada Jones Dial. She attended the former East Laurinburg Pentecostal Holiness Church. Nellie enjoyed cooking and reading, but most of all loved spending time with family and friends. She dedicated her life to raising her family and will always be remembered as a loving, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Dunn; brother, Willie Dial, James Dial, Joe Dial, Clifton Dial, Jr., Coolidge Dial, Robert Dial and Samuel Dial and sisters, Ada Chavis, Anna Chavis, Sarah Sanderson, Madeline Chavis, and Lincy Deese.
Nellie is survived by her sons, James Glen Hatcher, Bobby Hatcher, and Richard Dial, all of Laurinburg; daughter, Debbie H. Dial of Maxton; seven grandchildren including a granddaughter raised as her daughter, Hope Hatcher; eleven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
