Nellie Faye (Clark) Stubbs

Nellie Faye Clark Stubbs was born March 20, 1948 in Scotland County, daughter of the late James Hubert Clark and Nollie Grooms Clark. She was a member of Piney Plains Pentecostal Holiness Church and enjoyed working crossword puzzles, coloring, and cooking. Nellie was a dedicated homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family. She most loved spending time with her family and will forever be missed as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Nellie passed away at age 73 on January 4, 2022.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Chalmers William Stubbs; brother, James “Hubert” Clark; sister, Sarah Radford, and brother-in-law, Ray Helton.

Nellie leaves behind her sons, Chalmers W. “Joel” Stubbs, III (Shannon), James William Stubbs (Cecile), Marty Wayne Stubbs (Teresa), all of Rockingham; daughter, Sasha Stubbs Locklear (fiancé, Corey Wright) of Laurel Hill; daughter-in-law, Lisa Stubbs; her brother, Rev. Tony Clark (Jan) of Hamlet; sister, Margaret Helton of Laurinburg; brother-in-law, George Radford of Gibson; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, along with a host of many nieces, nephews, and friends.  

Funeral services will be at Noon Saturday, January 8, 2022 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Rev. Tony Clark. Burial will follow in Pinecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 11:00 until Noon at the funeral home.

Due to the current COVID-19 status, facial masks with social distancing are required for all services.
